How to export from Facebook
- 1.Go to facebook.com/dyi
- 2.Click "Download your information"
- 3.Select "Messages" only, choose JSON format
- 4.Click "Request a download" — Facebook will email you a link
- 5.Unzip the download and find messages/inbox/[name]/message_1.json
No. Your Messenger JSON is parsed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Go to facebook.com/dyi (Your Facebook Information) → Download your information. Select 'Messages' only, choose 'JSON' format, and request the download. Facebook emails you a link when it's ready (usually within a few minutes to hours).
Unzip the file. Inside, look for the 'messages/inbox/' folder. Each conversation is a sub-folder containing a 'message_1.json' file (and possibly message_2.json, etc. for long chats). Upload message_1.json to get started.
Download the HTML file, open it in your browser, and press Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac). Choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination.
